When the Grammy-nominated group Mumford and Sons recorded the four-track EP “The First Dance” as their alter egos The Wedding Band in 2010, little did frontman Marcus Mumford know that another kind of wedding band was in his not so distant future.
On April 21, 2012 musician Mumford married Academy Award-nominated actress Carey Mulligan. Two hundred family members and friends– including such famous faces as Colin Firth, Sienna Miller and Jake Gyllenhaal– gathered at Stream Farm in Bridgwater, Somerset, England to witness the wedding in a converted barn on the estate.
According to The Daily Mail, eight bridesmaids in turquoise blue creations walked down the aisle before the arrival of the star, who stepped into the role of bride in an ivory “I do” dress featuring an open back.
The ceremony was a celebration of a love story which began in March 2011 and had led to a proposal in September of the same year with a diamond and blue sapphire engagement ring.
